About

I am a fashion focused blogger residing in Boise, Idaho. I enjoy living a simple life with my husband of 5 years and our dog (Oscar) in Southeast Boise.

This blog was started in 2012 as a creative outlet for me to share my views on fashion, beauty and post DIY project tutorials. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

Education: In December of 2013, I graduated from Boise State University with a double major in Business Administration and Human Resources and a minor in marketing.

How I pay the bills: I work as an office manager for a local private family medicine practice. . In 2014 I started working for a local event planning company on the side. I play a very small role, but I love it! I love weddings and babies and just about anything that involves a shower or party of some kind. I previously spent time working in the corporate world for a multi-million dollar technology company. I worked in finance and market research. If you see me reference my "corporate days" this is what I am referring to.

My style: I lean towards more traditional looks with a romantic twist. Florals, lace and anything cream colored are what I gravitate towards. However, I do enjoy bold colors, especially lipstick and the occasional graphic print.

Favorite designers: The late Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera,  Rachel Zoe, Chanel, Michael Kors

Favorite places to shop: The Loft &  Banana Republic

Favorite movies: "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Fools Rush In," "Runaway Bride," "Legally Blonde"...basically if it's a chick flick I'm in :-)

Interests: Obviously I love shopping and finding new items for a steal, but not all my interests are fashion related. I also love working on home projects and DIY decor. Health and fitness are other passions of mine. I love trying new workouts and testing new recipes. One of my favorite workout systems was created by bombshell Chalene Johnson called Turbo Fire. I have enjoyed included Turbo Fire in my workout routine since 2011. Since the start of 2015 I have minimized the amount of gluten, alcohol and soda I consume. Although I still consume these things, I am more mindful of the how much and how often. It's not unusual to find my reading about how to cleanse  your liver or try out being vegan. In June 2015, I successfully completed Andreas Mortiz's liver and gallbladder cleanse, see here. My most relaxing days include movie watching, nail painting and a bubble bath.

Recent books: I am not a big reader, I never have been. Usually I prefer a magazine to a book, more pictures. Since graduating from college, I have found I enjoy reading a little from time to time (maybe because I'm no longer required to per a course syllabus and I get to pick the books).  Recently I've read "Gone Girl", "Lean In", "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Sisterhood Everlasting." I just finished reading "It Was Me All Along" by Andie Mitchell. My favorite cookbooks? Against All Grain, The Healthy Gluten-Free Life , The Oh She Glows Cookbook and The Best of Clean Eating.

Travel: The only international travel I have done has been to Mexico (for our honeymoon) and Jamaica (March 2014). I hope to go to Paris sometime in the next 5 years. I would also love to see the Northern Lights someday. One of my favorite places to go? Seattle. It has NEVER rained when I'm there. I am convinced it's the sunniest city there is. Despite this delusion, the rest of the reasons I love Seattle are legitimate. The city is sophisticated, clean and full of amazing food.  I absolutely love that city!

Mexico 2010
Jamaica 2014
Seattle (I've been multiple times because I love it so much. Usually go at least once every other year).
