DIY Feather Headband

My Inspiration: A peacock at our resort in Jamaica
Feathers are fabulous, especially on headbands. I particularly like peacock feathers because of their vibrant colors. For this project I used an elastic headband with the sticky lining, to prevent it from slipping off my head, but a regular headband would suffice...it just depends on your preference. This headband is inexpensive to make. I already had the elastic headband, button and felt. The feather was about $3 at Michael's. Felt is usually less than $1 a piece. So you're looking at about $5 for this project bombshells, pretty doable right?

Supplies:

  • felt
  • peacock feather
  • button
  • elastic headband
  • additional feathers to taste
  • hot glue

Step 1: Cut out oval piece of felt. This will be used as your backing for the headband.

Step 2:  Sew button to headband. I also hot glued the button to the elastic headband as well for extra security.

Step 3: Hot glue the felt to the back of the feather.

Step 4: Hot glue head band to the felt.

Step 5: If you like, add additional feathers to the base of the peacock feather. I used black because it color coordinated withe the peacock feather.

Ta-Da!!!

Tank Top: Old Navy

Mascara: Younique 3D Fiber Lashes
