"Un-Casual" Friday

As you may have guessed I am not a big advocate of going casual to work on Friday, or really any day. Even on the weekends you're lucky to see me in a long sleeve shirt and matching beanie. Converse are my big causal risk, it's like wearing running shoes to do errands (which I of course do not do unless I am coming from or going to the gym).

This Friday's outfit is made up of pieces I had in my closet, but never put them together to form one cohesive look...until today that is.

Blazer: Mango from JcPenney, Pants: Banana Republic

Top: Kohl's, Shoes: patent leather tasseled flats from DSW, Necklace: ??? (I've had it forever)

One of my New Year's resolutions is to take time in the morning to actually do something with my hair. I didn't want to jump right in to full blown dry and round brushed looks, so I started with this dressed up ponytail. Baby steps, right? ;-)

I did a side part with one braid and then pulled it back into a ponytail.

To cover up the ponytail holder, I wrapped a piece of my hair around the band and secured with a bobby pin.

Okay now the challenge is keeping this up for 362 more days :-)
