For Christmas I got this new cable knit sweater from my sister and her boyfriend (they always pick out the most perfect gifts). The sweater was perfect for my lazy weekend.
Don't worry we no longer have our Christmas tree up, I took these pictures when I got the sweater a couple weeks ago. I repeated the outfit for my big event this weekend.

This weekend, I went and got my ears pierced. It only took 24 years. I know, I know it's not a big deal, pierced ears? That's my big news? Well it's big to me. I have to admit I felt a bit like I was conforming. I kind of like being the odd one out, the only 24 year old without pierced ears. It's kind of like how I have never drank Mountain Dew, makes me feel unique. But I was getting so jealous of those who get to accessorize their lobes, so I gave in and joined the club. I went to Avante Salon in Meridian (I was opposed to getting it pierced at a tattoo parlor, I thought that would freak me out more). Avante only charges $20.

Post piercing, the stinging and burning has set in, which is why my face looks like this. Headband: I made it myself :-) |
My older sister kind of freaked out when she got her ears pierced when she was little, so I was expecting the worst when I went to get mine done. Honestly, it didn't hurt that bad (no offense Jacqueline).
Although I have to wait 6 weeks before I can start wearing anything but this boring studs (just in time for Valentine's Day...coincidence I swear). My Godparents gave me some pearl earrings for graduation. I plan to start there. Then I have my eye on a few other beauties.

Like these stunning diamond cobblestone earrings from Tiffany & Co. They're only $4,500...haha. Okay maybe not...a girl can dream right ;-)

Ps- We finished a DIY kitchen project this weekend, stay tuned for pictures. I'll be posting it this week!!!
Clip ons hurt after a while and with pierced ears, you have so much choice! Personally, I never leave the house without earrings (& mascara :-) ).
ReplyDeleteBy the way, there are some other earrings out there when you just got your ears pierced, so you don't have to wear the studs all the time if you don't want to, they gave me loops too.
I agree, clip ons are the worst. Mascara and lipstick are my two must haves, though I am sure I will be adding earrings to that list soon :-) The gal who pierced my ears mentioned I could get some small hoops too, so I'll have to check those out. Thanks!!!
