Red Carpet Review: 2014 Golden Globes

Welcome to award season bombshells!!! I am happy to present the best, mediocre and worst looks of the 2014 Golden Globes red carpet. Tonight was the 71st Annual Golden Globes.  Tina Fey & Amy Poehler hosted again tonight. I was blown away by some of the looks , not always in the best way.

The BoiseBombshell Hits:

Cate Blanchett - By far the best dressed of the evening. I am in love with this look. Stunning attire, quite possibly one of the best dresses I have EVER seen on the red carpet. Cate Blanchett wearing Armani. The back of this dress was incredible!
Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett
Lupita Nyong'o - Breathtaking, reminds me of Gwyneth Paltrow's white cape dress at last year's Oscars.
Lupita Nyong'o

Kate Beckinsale- A 1920s look, with a modern cut. Wearing Zuhair Muhad figure-flattering gown.
Kate Beckinsale

Jessica Chastain - I love her dress. Classic look. I wish she would have done a brighter lip. The fit of the gown and the sparkling diamond necklace are incredible. It was a little heavy of a fabric, but I thought it was appropriate for the winter season.
Jessica Chastain

Zooey Decahanel- I love this nude tone on her. The hair, makeup, earrings, shoes are stunning. Although the cropped top makes the dress seem slightly casual, it fits her fun and quirky personality perfectly.
Zooey Deschanel

Emma Roberts - Stunning fit and flare with perfectly accented teal drop earrings (she may want to give tips to her aunt, Julia Roberts). I wish she would have worn her hair a little more loose.
Emma Roberts

Amy Adams - Continuing the infamous low "v" look from "American Hustle, " Adams looks flawless in Valentino. My guess for the fabric? Chiffon. Amazing flowing gown.
Amy Adams

Lily Rabe- Not quite sure who she is (apparently she'll be starring in the final Hunger Games movies), but her stylist deserves some serious kudos. Disheartening to see a newcomer beat out the Hollywood classics, like Julia Roberts, in the fashion ring.
Lily Rabe

Taylor Schilling- I adore her. She is always so genuine and giggly. This color is perfect for her.
Taylor Schilling

Julianna Margulies - Simple and classic look with modern golden detailing. I thought the detailing resembled coral, perhaps not appropriate for January, but I thought she looked amazing!!! I love how she went without a necklace.
Julianna Margulies
Michelle Dockery - I love this look. Simple, girly, elegant. I might have added some dangly earrings to finish the look.
Michelle Dockery

Helen Miren - I love the color, love the glitter embellishments,  the earrings and overall fit of the gown.  A+!!!
Helen Miren

Leslie Mann- Such a classic look in this peplum lace gown. I would have loved to see some ruby or emerald drop earrings.
Leslie Mann

Tina Fey & Amy Poehler- The hosts of the 71st Annual Golden Globes. They had multiple outfit changes and looked incredible in every one.
Tina Fey & Amy Poehler

The Bacon Family - Looking good!!!  Kevin Bacon & wife Kyra Sedgwick (love her teal earrings with the coral gown), with their daughter Miss Golden Globe, Sosie.
The Bacon Family

The BoiseBombshell Maybes:

Sofia Vergara- I am not her biggest fan. I find her dense and obnoxious. Her hair should have been pulled back in a low bun with this dress, but there is not denying the stunning structure of this Zac Posen gown. The necklace was a great pop of color. I think it would've been better with the hair back and dramatic earrings, instead of the necklace.
Sophia Vergara

Jennifer Lawrence - Once again I was disappointed by the dress choice of Jennifer Lawrence. I love her new hair, love the cuff, the clutch. The earrings made no sense with the outfit. They are beautiful on their own, but not very cohesive with the rest of the look. The lipstick much too dark, way 90s.
Jennifer Lawrence

Kaley Cuoco - Her hair and makeup are  much too hard for this feminine gown. The dress is beautiful but much too springy for January.
Kaley Cuoco

The BoiseBombshell Misses:

Aubrey Plaza - Attack of the purple crayon...
Aubrey Plaza

Hayden Panettiere- Terrible hair, 80s rock disaster. The dress made her chest sag. During interviews she was extremely awkward. She has such a cute figure, it would've been nice to see her in something a little more flattering.
Hayden Panettiere

Emma Watson - Terrible look for her. Blue shoes and red dress? Terrible combo, but very patriotic. Poor posture. Dress would be appropriate for perhaps a 70 year old
Emma Watson
Emma Watson

Drew Barrymore- I think the picture speaks for itself...
Drew Barrymore

Melissa McCarthy- This dress is simply not flattering. She went with Hayden Panettiere on the 80s rock hair. Yikes! I did like her earrings though, they looked like zipper detailed roses. Intriguing...
Melissa McCarthy

Reese Witherspoon - Looks like fondant, seriously, I know that's a weird comment, but just look at it. The look is just too generic, like something out of the Real Housewives of Orange County.
Reese Witherspoon

Julie Roberts - It makes me sick to my stomach to do this, but Miss Roberts definitely made my worst dressed list. I idolize her, always have (just watched Steel Magnolias last night), but this dress is such a disappointment. Is she walked the red carpet or going to a business meeting? Without the collared shirt, it might have made the maybe list. She could do so much better. Her hair and makeup , however, are stunning.
Julia Roberts

Heidi Klum - It's beautiful, for a nightgown, but on the red carpet? Disappointing. Her hair was terrible, bangs much too thick. She looked as though she had forgotten her mascara. The chocker necklace is very 90s.
Heidi Klum

Rashida Jones- I hope a tsunami comes to wipe out this palm tree disaster.
Rashida Jones

Zoe Saldana- Over-embellished patchwork dress with asymmetrical lines. And she insisted on standing awkwardly with her knee knocking. Eeeeeekkkk!!!
Zoe Saldana

Caitlin Fitzgerald - There are no words for this short-sleeve disaster.
Caitlin Fitzgerald

Maria Menounos - Greek goddess meets Bazooka bubble gum?
Maria Menounos

Sandra Bulllock - She is stunning. I adore her, but this is by far one of the worst dresses I have ever seen on the red carpet.
Sandra Bullock

There were a lot of misses on this year's Golden Globes red carpet.  However, I think the real low point was Diane Keaton singing on national television to Woody Allen, YIKES! I am looking forward to many more red carpet reviews this season. Happy Sunday Bombshells!!!

Be Bold,
Be Brave,
Be Beautiful,

PS- Why in the world is Taylor Swift  allowed to sit at the same table at Julia Roberts???? I don't care if her music is nominated for a film. What is the world coming to?!?
