There was a lot of blush tones (ivory, pinks, greys, etc), classic black and bright cobalt blues on tonight's red carpet. Now there are so many gowns to choose from, I decided to only focus on famous actresses (meaning George Clooney's girlfriend and cast from Housewives of "insert city here" will not be included in tonight's red carpet review). I'm probably just jealous they get to go and I don't :-) Sigh...
BoiseBombshell Hits:
Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive. Incredible blush tone gown, looked great with her bright red lipstick. Her skin is flawless. I wish she would wear her hair differently though, she always has the same look, nevertheless, she looks perfect. People are saying she's the modern-day Meryl Streep. She is a classic beauty and seems to be an overall genuine person. I adore her.

Kristin Chenoweth in Tony Ward Couture. Loved this gown, just enough sparkle without going overboard. I like how it wasn't strapless. Perfect look for her. I was surprised she was able to wear such a big gown on her petite frame, without looking overpowered.

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab. Stunning gown, didn't care for the hair clip, it took away from the gown. I think she should've worn her hair wavy or up, but I couldn't help but put this on the "hit" list because the gown itself is so beautiful and her makeup is perfect.

Catherine Zeta Jones in Zuhair Murad Couture. Loved the baroque design at the bottom of the gown, the gold looks great with her dark hair, pay no attention to the crazy looking lady in the background of this picture.

Catherine Zeta Jones |
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji - The gown was ivory like her Oscar gown last year, but the color looks amazing on her. Heavenly.

Octavia Spencer |
Robin Roberts in a cobalt blue velvet gown. The velvet worked perfectly for this time of year, I like the ruching, the angle of the strap and the hem. It looked incredible on her. Robin, a host for Good Morning America, recently returned to the show. She's a breast cancer survivor and she has been battle a rare blood disease this year. The woman is a rockstar.

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive. Loved this bold choice. It really stood out on this red carpet. The cutout one shoulder was edgy, yet elegant. Definitely a hit this red carpet!

BoiseBombshell Maybes:
Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta. Incredible dress, I loved it, but she was awkward on the red carpet tonight, just messy overall. Her hair and makeup seemed to have been left over from last night. I wish she had not repeated a muted hue with the grey (apparently it's light blue according to E News!) Oscar de la Renta, since she wore a blush tone at the Golden Globes last month. The bodice of tonight's dress was very similar to her Marchesa Golden Globe gown. I did LOVE the dress, just not for Amy Adams, not tonight.

Amy Adams |
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. Loved this overall look, she had a diamond back-drop necklace, which wasn't properly shown off in the gown. The gown was much too heavy and dramatic for a slender diamond necklace. I did love the shape of the gown.

Jennifer Lawrence |
Zoe Saldana - I loved the top, intricate bodice, but the bottom and the top didn't seem to match. The top was ornate and feminine with a belt, but the bottom was flowing and modern, more minimalist. Separately they were great, but together, it didn't make much sense.

Zoe Saldana |
Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen. I loved the print and the pale lavender color, but she keeps wearing such constricting bodices. I don't like the keyhole front.

Amanda Seyfried |
Anne Hathaway in Prada. I loved the simplicity of this gown, it was the perfect length, the neckline was fabulous, loved the necklace. The color was okay, but typical. Her hair is perfect, she makes me want to chop mine off. She's so slender and flawless. It would've been a hit, if she had worn a bra or pasties...this was all true, until I saw the back of the dress, now I hate it.

Charlize Theron in Dior. I loved it, but it was much too similar to the Chanel gown worn by Anne Hathaway at the Golden Globes. Don't you think?

Anne Hathaway - 2013 Golden Globes in Chanel Couture |
Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott. I am so proud of her for doing something different with her hair!!! Tonight's gown was so different, I am just not sure what I think of it. The fabric is incredible, it almost looks wet, definitely unique, but not quite right for the Oscars. It would've been perfect for the Grammy's.

BoiseBombshell No-Nos:
Rese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton (fabulous hair she always makes me want to be blonde, but I did not like the dress it was just too loud). The fabric was not right for her post-baby body. It was too fussy, there just seemed to be too much fabric.

Reese Witherspoon |
Kerry Washington in Miu Miu- She looked like a little girl in this dress. It might've worked better without the tiny bow in the front. The color was great for her skin, the design was just off. The dress was too simple for a train this size.

Jennifer Aniston - I kind of hate how she dressed down her hair and accessories for the red carpet. The red carpet is not the place to rock the beachy hair. I didn't care for the center seam on the gown, wish she would've worn a more elegant gown for the red carpet. It was just disappointing overall.

Jennifer Aniston |
Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli. The front slit was tacky, it seemed like it had just been ripped up the front, there wasn't a smooth hem along the slit. I didn't like the scale-like looking material. The color was pretty on her. Wished she would've worn her hair back or up or curly, the stick straight hair is just too harsh when you have bangs.

Jennifer Hudson |
Helen Hunt in H&M - What in the world!!! Yes I said H&M. And then she had $7,000 worth of jewels sewn onto the cheap dress. It wasn't even steamed. This dress just makes me mad. What was she thinking? Why why why!?!
