So for Christmas my husband bought me tickets to go see the fabulous Miss Carrie Underwood and after months of not-so-patient waiting, we went and saw her in concert last night. INCREDIBLE!!!
I have always been obsessed with Carrie Underwood. I love her sense of style, her gorgeous blonde locks and the fact she can belt it out better than Whitney Houston. Seriously, the girl can sing! And she can whistle too, apparently. In "One Way Ticket" she did all her own whistling. Most people would not be impressed by this, but I cannot whistle at all, so I was pretty amazed at her skills.
My only bombshell beauty suggestion is that she use a brown toned blush, instead of pink. Other than that, absolute perfection. She was so cute waving to everyone in the crowd and saying "excuse me" in her cute Oklahoma accent to her band members when she needed around them.
I apologize in advance for the poor picture quality, our phones didn't function so well in the dark...

She walked out of the digital door, so cool!
I am happy to report Carrie was rocking the metallic belt trend. Her belt was similar, if not identical to the belts worn by Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard at the Golden Globes (read about it here). Both those ladies metallic accessories were by Chopard.

Carrie wore a high-low chiffon gown in bright purple/metallic print |

Carrie in denim cut-offs and a Willie Nelson t-shirt...and cowboy boots of course :-) |

Carrie rocked fingerless leather gloves with every ensemble, she even had hot pink ones!
Her gloves were similar to the ones seen below, but hers had many more studs, chains and jewels, plus Carrie's gloves were only worn over her knuckles.

Carrie did have one outfit I loved, but couldn't get a good picture of. It was a silver chain tank, with gold acid washed leggings. It was incredible! She is so fierce and her legs are INSANE!!! You could see the definition in them from a mile away, I was so impressed! Anyways, back to fashion...
 |
Loved this gown for her encore, it had a hard metal detailed bodice with a monochromatic grey chiffon skirt, to die for! |
You can see the dress a little better here:

Last song of the encore: "Blown Away" (she in front of the smoke, hard to see sorry bloggies) |
For the finale Carrie wore a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps...I spotted the patent leather red soles from my seat, pathetic I know. Her shoes were similar to these ones, but hers only had one ankle strap, the toe was slightly more round and I think hers were in suede or non-patent leather.
I had been planning my Carrie concert attire for a month or two, not gonna lie. I ended up purchasing this Tracy Reese blouse from the Neiman Marcus-Target Collection for $23 in January...I waited to wear it until last night. My jeans are the curvy boot cut at Banana Republic and my boots are Roper, purchased at Big R in Oregon.

Corey got some new boots too ;-) |

Love the sequin detailing, the back is solid royal blue |
Overall, it was a perfect evening. Carrie was incredible and I was thoroughly impressed by her opening act: Hunter Hayes. I had no idea he was so talented on the guitar and piano. Last night made me want to relive the Grammy's all over again, which my girl Carrie took home a Grammy a couple weeks ago for best solo performance (this is her 6th Grammy!).
After watching Carrie stomp around stage for 2 hours, all I could think was how I would kill to be her stylist. She's the ideal client for a fashion guru like me. Sigh...
Up next week?
