Rules for "Wearing Leggings as Pants"

Rules for "wearing leggings as pants":

Rule #1: No matter what size you are (a 2 or a 12) your backside needs to be covered. It is tacky to expose your bum in leggings, unless of course you're a toddler (that is probably the only exception to this rule).

Rule #2: The leggings must be solid, so buy them in the correct size. Buying leggings too small will cause the fabric to stretch and become more sheer than you may have intended (trust me I've seen this happen to way too many people). You shouldn't be able to see your skin or underwear pattern through them, which brings me to my next rule...

Rule #3: Please consider the color underwear you have on before wearing leggings as pants. A flesh-colored tone is probably the safest choice.

Rule #4: No white or flesh-toned leggings as pants, ever. Please, for everyone's sake.

Rule #5: Don't trade in all your "real" pants for leggings, especially not those ridiculous jean-like things called "jeggings" that don't feel or look anything like actual jeans. Wear real pants the majority of the time, saving "leggings as pants" for those casual weekend looks or rainy days (like we've been having here in Boise).

Now having said all that, wearing leggings as pants can be cute:

Leggings: Kohl's, Sweater: Express
Pardon the poor picture, my usual photographer/husband was MIA
Scarf: It was a gift, T-Shirt: Old Navy (less that $6.50!!!)
Note the sweater is long, to cover my bum :-)
Rain Boots: Target, Socks: gift from my sister

I wore real earrings with this outfit, instead of my boring studs. My ears actually felt pretty good. Seems they prefer designer earrings like these Kate Spade beauties:
Earrings: Kate Spade
I kept my hair simple and pulled it back with this metal clamp:

Lipgloss: Burt's Bees "Summer Twilight" (it's AMAZING, you have to try it)

Be Beautiful,
