Red Carpet Review: 2015 Emmy Awards

It was a hot night on the red carpet at the 67th Emmy Awards, no literally, it was over 100 degrees outside. Some starts certainly didn't plan for the heat. Many wore heavy fabrics and long sleeves. Overall it was not a good year for the color yellow at the Emmys. 3 of my worst-dressed picks wore yellow gowns. As always the worst-dressed list is much longer than the best-dressed, but it made for an entertaining evening.

The BoiseBombshell Best-Dressed:

Considering she's fairly new to the red carpet and limelight, I am so impressed by Gina Rodriguez's classy style. This color dress is stunning on her. I love how we went without a necklace and sleeked back hair to keep from competing with the dress.
Gina Rodriguez

This was one of my favorite dresses. It simply sparkled on stage. I loved the colors, neckline and tasteful cut-outs.
Allison Janney

I love this color on her. They way she matched the metallic detail in the neckline to her bangle, without going overboard with the jewelry. The hair is a little stuck in the 90s, but we can forgive her at least this one time (probably because she could take us down, look at those arms, dang!).
Felicity Huffman

Love the diamond bangle and form fitted gown. It was probably a little hot though in the 101 degree heat.
Jamie Lee Curtis

Although she's no longer a co-anchor for E!News, she still manages to get a ticket to all the red carpet events. I am in love with the neckline of her gown and the color.
Always a show stopper. Does he ever age?
John Stamos

I love the fit and flare style on her. The clutch and earrings are perfectly paired. Obsessed with her emerald ring!!!
Julie Bowen

The BoiseBombshell Maybes:

Stunning hair and makeup. Not overdone, which is highly out of character for Lady Gaga. The look would have been perfect without the goofy side structure on the hip. Then again without it, you might not even recognize it was Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga

She nearly disappears in this dress. The red carpet is for standing out, not blending in. If her hair of dress had been a different color it would have been stunning. This same look with auburn hair, incredible. The dress itself is beautiful and so is Emma Roberts (Julie Roberts niece), but not together, not with this color hair.
Emma Roberts

The BoiseBombshell Worst-Dressed:

If Big Bird were a flamingo dancer...
Heidi Klum
It's so awful, I had to show it to you from another angle.
Heidi Klum
The bodice isn't bad, but the skirt and color are terrible. Even worse is this is the creation of a true fashion mastermind. Zac Posen, what were you thinking?
Tracie Ellis Ross

The cut and fit are all wrong. It's about 10 sizes too big. The ruffle on the bottom doesn't fit with the Greek goodness neckline.
Taylor Schilling

The only thing worse than this Little Mermaid inspired outfit is her facial expression.
January Jones

Knight and shining armor...
Kerry Washington

The cut, the fit, the fabric are all wrong for her. The dress is so plain, not worthy of the red carpet.
Amy Schumer

The sleeves do not work with dress. The sequin detail makes the dress look cheap. The cut of the overall dress is more structured, with doesn't not make sense with the flowing train.
Mindy Kaling

A geometric disaster.
Jane Krakowski

Probably best to leave the 70s where they belong, in the past.
Ellie Kemper

Clown meets red carpet and why the umbrella? It was 101 outside.
Alan Cumming
Terrible, in the most unique way. Looks like she's wearing a giant locket on her chest.
Joanna Newsom

The colors are terrible. The flouncy fabric with the heavy metallic chains...it's all wrong.
Claire Daines

Halloween came early.
Julianne Hough

Could've gone without the chain straps and the keyhole cutout and the see through skirt.
Taraji Henson

I hope you enjoyed this year's red carpet review of the 2015 Emmy Awards. Looking forward to the rest of award season!!!
