The BoiseBombshell: What to wear to a baby shower

These days it seems attending baby showers has become my new hobby. Whether I am hosting the shower or just attending, I always enjoy seeing what games we play and what crazy baby items I have never heard of are gifted. Am I right? Aside from what to buy for the baby, you also have to figure out what in the world to wear to the shower. Depending on the type of shower it is and the type of mama she is helps narrow it down. I usually go with dark denim in the fall and a simple skirt or dress in spring/summer (yes, I go to enough baby showers to have "go-to" looks for each season).

If you wear denim, you MUST dress it up. I don't care who the mom-to-be is, she does not want you showing up in holy jeans and a sweatshirt and as a guest, neither do I. Remember to dress it up, but don't overdress. This shower is about her and not you.

I kept it simple at a recent shower by pairing dark denim with a graphic blouse. I added pops of color with my lipstick and purse, then items of intrigue with my wedged shoes and beaded headband.
