Red Carpet: 2015 Oscar Awards

It was another wet red carpet at this year's Academy Awards. Remember the Oscar red carpet last year?

Tonight's award show was relatively entertaining. I was in love with the opening act by host Neil Patrick Harris (see here).

Of course I would love to be able to waltz down the star studded red carpet, but mostly I think I would love get get my hands on one of the party favors (valued at $160,000 a piece). What's in a bag? See here

There was a surprising number of people who landed on the BoiseBombshell best dressed list this year. Love it!!! To get a recap of last year's Oscar awards see here

Double Take:

Lets start off with some "who wore it better" images. Although these dresses are not identical...they are very similar:
Jennifer Lopez & Luciana Duvall
I liked JLo's gown color better, but her lipstick and red eyeshadow were terrible. Luciana nailed the makeup and hair, but JLo's belted gown looked more complete.
Jennifer Lopez

BoiseBombshell Best Dressed:

The color, the fit, it's heaven. Plus her figure...INCREDIBLE!
Jessica Chastain
I think I love it so much because it reminds me of my favorite dress Ariel wears. Yes, I said Ariel.
Ariel - The Little Mermaid

Love this gown. The fabric, the color, the glitz. Her hair is perfect. I could go without the keyhole front and oversized earrings, but otherwise the teeny-tiny Anna Kendrick looks stunning.
Anna Kendrick

Love the simple gown with the statement necklace.
Cate Blanchett

I feel like she nails every red carpet. Go Kelly go!!!
Kelly Osbourne

Perfect.
Jamie Chung

I love the shape of this dress, the color and the detail. I wish the slit was off to the side instead of right down the middle...odd. She kept the jewelry and makeup understated which was the perfect choice for this ornate gown.
Rosamund Pike

I am in love with this peach-toned Vera Wang gown. It's so elegant.
Oprah Winfrey

Perfect, aside from the peep toe shoe. Black and white always look so amazing on Meryl Streep. A classic combination, just like her.

This dress is very unique with the emphasized dropped waist line, but I still love it. Her slicked back bun polishes off this look well.
Julianne Moore
Although this dress wasn't perfectly fitted, it was understandable seems it is made out of 6,000 pearls. PEARLS!!! Of course I love the color (cream is my favorite), aside from that this is quite literally a jeweled masterpiece. I could have gone without the keyhole front, but the fact it's made out of pearls over rides that.
Lupita Nyong'o

I love the cut of this gown. It has the same antique feel of Angelina Jolie's gown at last years Oscar awards (see it here).....but with better shape. I am not crazy about the color of her gown or shoes. Maybe silver, black, blue or burgundy would have been better??? Her lipstick and hair are amazing.
Emma Stone
Emma's dress also kind of resembles Meryl Streep at the 1983 Oscar awards.
A pregnant Meryl Streep at the 1983 Oscars

This dress worked for her, but the mother-daughter dynamic between Dakota and her "+1" mom (Melanie Griffith) did not. Can you say AWK...WARD? I wish she would do something with her hair other than a ponytail, seems she really likes them for red carpet events.
Dakota Johnson

BoiseBombshell Maybes:

Again with the tent dresses. Why? Someone should tell her you don't have to wear baggy clothes just because you're pregnant, it's no longer 1950. I lover her hair and the print of the dress. If it was fitted, sans the writing, I think it would have been a red carpet win.
Keira Knightley
The bows were a little over done (at least 3 I counted). Her hair and eye makeup were a little severe.
Sienna Miller

BoiseBombshell Worst Dressed:

Terrible dress, but amazing earrings.
Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts

Why am I not surprised? I wonder what her pajamas look like...
Lady Gaga

There is a whole lot going on here. The necklace, the hair, the gown...yikes!
Scarlett Johansson

The sequins and color make the gown look cheap (my sister insists it is the color of boogers), the ribbon sash doesn't help. Also, why does she always have angry eyebrows?
Nicole Kidman

Beyonce must be disappointed.
Solange Knowles

'80s Prom
Gwyneth Paltrow

Curtains with pockets.
Chloe Grace Mortez

What is happening?
Marion Cotillard

I hope you enjoyed the 2015 Academy Award Red Carpet Review by The BoiseBombshell.
