I spent part of my Valentine's day traveling back to Boise after spending 4 days in Scottsdale, Arizona for a work conference. Although I'm not a huge Valentine person, I do prefer to be home for the holiday. We usually skip going out for dinner instead we like to stay at home on Valentine's evening.
Once I got home we went to lunch with the in-laws, shopped around Hyde Park (there is this new *ADORABLE* shop called Hyde & Peek) and had ice cream at Goody's. I searched for the Hyde & Peek website link, but couldn't find anything...they're really new I guess.

This is one of my favorite spots in my house. It's a little reading nook in our bedroom. On the wall is a picture from our wedding with the vows we made to each other.
Pillow & Curtains: Bed Bath a& Beyond, Table & Lamp Shade: Fred Meyer, Chair aka "The Amanda Chair" is from Portland |
These things crack me up. I got them as a gift form a co-worker. Apparently you're supposed to put it on your lips for 15 minutes, sort of like a face mask, then peel it off and they're perfectly soft.
The directions are written mostly in Japanese...not helpful :-)

This is one of my favorite fortune cookie sayings I have ever opened, "Stop searching forever, happiness is right next to you." I keep it at the bottom of the "LOVE" photo frame pictured above. It's a good reminder for the days when I am feeling the sense of needing and wanting more. This saying helps me find peace and contentment.
My other favorite fortune? "Pull the universe inside yourself and make it your own."
I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love bombshells!!!
Be Bold,
Be Brave,
Be Beautiful,
