One of my favorite thing about moving forward to a New Year? Looking back at all the amazing people who made 2014 a year worth celebrating.
How do you make the annual Bombshell list? 3 simple things: be bold, be brave and be beautiful.
#1 Janet Yellen
In February 2014 Ms. Yellen was sworn in as the Chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. What does the Fed Chair do? Basically they are the spokesperson of the US economy, they play a huge part in determining appropriate rates and adjusting for inflation.Yellen is the first woman EVER to hold this seat. Can I get a unified chant of "GIRL POWER!!!"

#2 Marlo Thomas
In November of this year, Marlo Thomas (director of St. Jude Children's Hospital) received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Basically, the woman is a saint. It is the country's highest civilian honor given to those “individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

#3 Elle Walker
Maybe you don't recognize the name, but you might recognize the blog "What's Up Moms?" Elle Walker is the founder of this hit blog and correlated YouTube channel. Elle and her two contributors Meg and Brooke dish in blogs and videos on the very real trials of parenting, often with a comedic spin. Check out this video parody "I'm so pregnant" be prepared to pee your pants...it is hilarious!!!

#4 Sierra
This 7 year old is a force to be reckoned with. She earned the title as the "Kindest Kid" through a competition on the Today Show. Sierra is a cancer survivor who visits hospitalized children to bring them gift bags, offer comforting advice and sharing her experience. Such understanding and genoursity at 7 years old...melts your heart.

#5 Taylor Swift
The previously crowned country music superstar, Taylor Swift, traded her cowboy boots in this year for crop tops and hipster glasses with the release of her first pop album "1989." The album quickly became the top selling album of the year. Love her or hate her, the girl has a way with working a crowd. The transition from country to pop takes guts, but actually succeeding in such an effort takes a bombshell.

#6 Lupita Nyong'o
This actress, model and film director has taken Hollywood by storm. Oh, did I mention she graduated from Yale? She was named the "Most Beautiful Woman" in 2014 by People Magazine and walked away from the 2014 award season with multiple decorations for her fireplace mantle...PLUS her sense of style is impeccable...well...usually (see here, here and here, not so much here).

#7 Maddie Ziegler
You might remember this incredibly talented 12 year old from the Lifetime series "Dance Moms." Her natural gift for dance was featured in this year's hit music video by pop artist Sia in the song "Chandelier." Although the dance moves and costume design is somewhat disturbing, the child has more talent at 12 years of age than I will likely have in my entire life.
#8 & 9 Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga
Who said you had to be a young woman to be a bombshell? Let's talk Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga. Although it doesn't quite make sense, the two are a perfect pair. Their jazz ablum "Cheek to Cheek" was released in fall of 2014 and quickly became a hit. Gaga previously sang with Bennett on his 2011 album. The odd couple makes some incredible harmonies, plus it seems he brings out the "normal" in her.

#10 Carrie Underwood
Some days you can barely tell, but Carrie Underwood is in fact pregnant. Now this doesn't make her a bombshell or hero of any kind, but the fact she is still making appearances, performing, hosting award shows and looking fierce certainly does. Remember her at the 2014 CMAs? She is still releasing hit singles and recently performed her latest on the Today Show (watch it here). The girl is unstoppable. I am blown away...anyone else?
