Smokey Eye Tutorial

Holidays are a time for family, friends and of course lots of parties!

What a better way to show up to your holiday gathering than with the perfect smokey eye* Now don't be intimidated bombshells, accomplishing the perfect smokey eye is not as hard as it seems.

*My apologies in advanced for all the up-close eye photos. I know it's creepy looking, but it's the best way to show you how to get the smokey eye look.

Supplies:
  • eye shadow brushes
  • neutral eye shadow palette (cream, gold, brown, etc)
  • eyeliner
  • mascara
Here is my set up:
Brushes: Mary Kay, Mascara: Makeup Forever & Younique 3D Fiber Lashes
I am OBSESSED with the makeup kit my sister bought me a couple years ago. I use it all the time!
Makeup Kit: Victoria's Secret

Step 1: Select a cream based eye shadow. Mine is starting to run a little low as you can see :-( Apply this to your entire lid and up to your brow bone. Also apply to the inside corner of your eye. This helps brighten the eye.

Step 2: Apply a darker cream shadow or light brown shadow to your lid.

Step 3: Apply a dark brown matte or shimmer espresso to you outer corner. Work your way in from the outer corner to about mid-eyelid. Also apply this color into your crease. Don't worry if it looks a little "clown-ish" at first.

Shimmer Brown

Step 4: Apply a medium cream eyeshadow to one of your brushes and use it to blend the colors.

Step 5: Use the dark brown matte or dark brown shimmer you chose in step 3 and line your lower lashes. Start at the outside corner of your eye and line 3/4 of the way in towards your nose.

Step 6: Use a dark brown or black eyeliner to line your upper eyelid.

Step 7: Apply mascara. I used Makeup Forever mascara and then applied my Younique 3D Fiber lashes for an extra dramatic look. (Want to learn more about Younique products? Contact Becca Allen here).
