My Portland Adventure

Portland and I have a love hate relationship, we always have. I lived there for over a year, when Corey and I first got married. First we lived in Gresham, just outside of Portland (hate). Then we moved into a studio apartment in Downtown (love). The studio was only 550 sq. ft. (hate), but it had floor to ceiling windows (love) which helped let the light in even though it rains all the time (hate). See what I mean?

Pictures of our old place:

Basically the whole apartment ;-)

I arrived in Portland Friday night and we decided to reminisce a little and take the street car (which is no longer free by the way) from our hotel down to our old apartment. We ate at one of our favorite pizza places (Pizza Schmizza) just across the street from where we used to live.
Our place was is the one behind the church - The Cyan

I am so glad I decided to tag along to Portland last weekend. Corey had a conference, so I decided I'd join him in the "big" city (it's pretty big compared to Boise, but it's no New York). While Corey attended his training, I got to spend time with friends, check out the Saturday Market and wander around. Pretty sure I got the better part of the deal this time around :-)

We stayed in a hotel in the Pearl District, which is one of my favorite areas of Portland.

What I wore on the plane to Portland:
Jean Jacket: DownEast Basics, Pants: Hand-me-down
Flats: JcPenney, Bag: Lookbook Store, Scarf: Gift from my boss for Admin Appreciation Week
Top: Piperlime

Portland has incredible food options and of course my much loved BUBBLE TEA!!! Seriously, you cannot get this stuff in Boise. I found some in Bend, OR at a local tes shop but the taste was all wrong. If you're in Portland, "Fat Straw" is the only way to go bombshells...trust me. I may or may not have made 2 stops here over the weekend ;-)

Portland has the best local clothing boutiques. 23rd Avenue is my favorite shopping spot in Portland (it's also where "Fat Straw" is located. I loved hunting for unique jewelry (I bought a turtle ring), finding shoe deals (bought the cutest pair for $20) and of course dresses (found an amazing coral colored dress for an upcoming wedding I'm attending). All this items will be posted later (mean I know).

What I wore while shopping on 23rd Ave:
Blouse: Lauren Conrad via Kohl's, Bag: Lookbook Store, Sandals: Target
Vest: Bohme, Jeans: Ann Taylor Loft

Of course I couldn't go without my "Bombshell" necklace (a Christmas gift my my sister and her boyfriend)

All in all it was a wonderful trip and while I love Boise it's nice to visit Portland and take a trip down memory lane.

I can't wait to share with you all my Portland shopping finds. Stay tuned!!!
