Tricky Tuesday: How to get ready in 7 minutes

Getting my wisdom tooth pulled Thursday has definitely left me less wise, either that or it was watching all 5 Twilight movies in less than 72 hours haha (let me spare you the time and let you know the acting is just as bad on pain medication). I spent my weekend watching way too much TV, eating only mushy foods(soup, milkshakes, noodles) and sleeping excessively (Friday I didn't wake up until 11am then took a nap from 2pm -6:30pm...apparently getting teeth pulled makes me very tired). After all this down time I was ready to go back to work, or so I thought.

This morning I woke up at 7:05am. In order to be at work by 7:30 I need to leave the hour before 7:15. The morning started with curse words and running around crazy. This made for one tricky Tuesday. Luckily I was able to pull it together in 7 minutes (dressed, makeup on and out the door). My husband made me coffee and put together a "to go" breakfast arrangement (thanks honey)! Though it was a rushed morning, I managed to make it to work on time, score!

I know I'm not the only one who has missed their alarm once or twice, but I certainly don't make a habit of it. For those of us who need to throw together a quick look on those missed wake up call days, here's a few tricks from one bombshell to another:

1). Clothes: Stick to a wrinkle-free pant, I grabbed my black ankle sloans from Banana Republic. Next add a vividly interesting top, geometric or floral prints are great.
2). Shoes: To save time, avoid laces and socks. Stick to flats or slip on sandals (if your work allows open-toed shoes)
3) Makeup: No time for primer and foundation. Throw on some bb cream, face powder, a single eye shadow tone and mascara. Add a bold lip to distract from any makeup imperfections you may have made in your rush to get ready. I of course chose a red lip...surprise, surprise :-)
4) Hair: Keep it simple, there's no time for curling, flat ironing or blow drying. Throw it into a ponytail, add a deep side part for added drama and visual interest.
5). Jewelry: I didn't thrown on any jewelry in my getting ready madness, but a quick option would be a statement ring or bold cuff (avoid things with clasps to save time).

Pants: Banana Republic
Top: Bohme (just bought it yesterday, on sale for less than $19)
*Shop Bohme online here.
Love the balloon sleeves

Inverted ponytail (takes 90 seconds, if that)
Shoes: BlowFish (these were my wedding shoes)
My toes of course were already painted, otherwise I would've chosen ballet flats. I painted my toes in all my weekend down time. To help make bright nail polish pop, add a solid white base coat, before applying the bold color. It will help the polish look brighter. Revlon has a new combo nail product that does just this. You've probably seen recent ads featuring Emma Stone. Check out the Revlon Nail Art Neon product here

Since I already had the bold yellow color and white nail polish, I went with that.

White nail polish by Maybelline: Porcelain Party #380
I don't usually like NYC brand (they tend to be cheap products).  I love this yellow color though, Midtown Mimosa.
Keep these tricks in mind for those hectic mornings. Hopefully Wednesday won't be as hectic.

Be Beautiful,
